Most detectorists spend little time thinking about the safe ways to pursue thier hobby. Here are a few things to think about.

Safety and common sense go hand in hand. Most problems can be avoided by paying attention to what you are doing, your surroundings and by using a little common sense.

Always let someone know where you will be detecting, what time you expect to be back, and who you will be with.

If you have a cell phone, take it along.

Below are links to pages on my site that deal a bit more with safety.

Check back to this page because I'll be adding more on safety in the days to come.
